I spent the day cooking up prospective wedding reception fare for Travis and Liz to taste. We spent a lovely evening tasting and discussing their wedding plans. I am envious of their Niagara Falls honeymoon. And they decided on their menu, with extra portions of their favorites. I'm looking forward to their big day. As we discussed who might be able to help out with wedding day jobs, Rich and Chuck were mentioned often We need about ten of each of you guys. We love you for being capable, helpful and willing. Bless your hearts!
I had the tv on while I was cooking. On the evening news I heard that Mike Wallace is semi-retiring to reporter emeritus status on 60 Minutes. I knew right then that is the career status I want! Sorority cook emeritus. Still held in high esteem. Occasionally available for the really good gigs, you know, the ones that get the most attention. But free from the day to day baked chicken dinners, the boneless, skinless kind. No more tuna noodle. No more green bean casserole. No more jello. I think chances of this happening soon are slim. Sadie, the lunch cook, has been cooking for the Alpha Chi's for 20 some years, and she still has to fix chicken fingers and waffle fries. She definitely deserves emeritus status a few years before I am considered.
